The providers and staff at Women for Women encourage all women to be their own best advocate when it comes to their health. Regular gynecologic exams allow for early detection and treatment of problems which can minimize the potential of long-term effects.
Our doctors and nurse practitioners offer a wide range of expertise in all aspects of women’s health from adolescence through menopause and beyond. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care and aim to develop life-long doctor/patient relationships.
Routine Gynecologic Care
It’s recommended young women start seeing a gynecologist for routine care at the age of 18 or when they become sexually active, whichever comes first. These annual visits typically involve a pelvic and breast exam along with screening for sexually transmitted diseases. Starting at age 21, a routine Pap smear is recommended to screen for cervical cancer.
As a woman ages, screenings will include human papilloma virus testing (the #1 cause of abnormal pap smears), mammograms and bone density scans to screen for osteoporosis.
Inevitably, all women will experience a gynecologic problem at some point in their life. When that day comes, our providers will work with you to develop an individualize plan from diagnosis to treatment. Some of the more common conditions we treat are listed below:
